The stars aligned when I was invited to be a featured artist at The 2022 Love Show taking place at the Taren White Gallery in Paris, Ontario. Why you may ask?

Growing up in neighbouring Brantford, Ontario, I spent much of my time away from home hanging out with friends in picturesque Paris. If you’ve been to Paris, you’ll know what I mean by picturesque. Dubbed the prettiest little town in Ontario, Paris has got it going on! The region has a soft spot in my heart, so imagine my surprise when Taren White, a budding Paris gallery owner, invited 11 other artists and me to participate in her upcoming exhibition.

I discovered my love for art and making in my early teens. My mind was always processing how things looked and how I could put my own spin on everything. I was forever doodling, drawing or piecing something together. One thing I drew over and over again were eyes - I still find eyes in my artwork that I unconsciously include. The Seer Series, part of The Love Show, are mixed-media paintings that pay homage to my teenage obsession for drawing eyes and my understanding of how they show the way into a person’s soul. The crazy thing is I had completed the 6-piece series months ago and kept holding on to them for a special opportunity - then Taren called. How perfect!

The Seer Series, along with pieces from three more collections (Healing Elixirs, Loose Bouquet and Soul Maps) will be at the gallery plus my Spring Summer 2022 Painted Denim collection and a terrifically large-scale tapestry piece entitled Cosmic Journey - that just happens to have a few eyes hiding amongst all of the paint. A brand NEW Collection has just been added to the gallery - ‘Illuminations.’ Scroll down the page to see the pieces!
